Sandman is a lemmings clone. Keep your sleepers away from the nightmares, and don't let them fall into the water. Your primary job is to lead them from one dream to another. Unfortunately, your only tool is dropping sand.To drop sand, just left click. The sleepers will not walk through the sand falling, so if you need to keep them away from someplace (<- hint for level two), then drop some sand. You may be able to drop sand onto a spot that's 'invisible'. Also, don't let your sleepers fall too far.
