Gardens of Time is a new hidden objects games from playdom, we recently reviewed Mystery Manor andCatch a Killer, it seems this previously download games, from popcap, are making their appearance in Facebook and now you can play this games online for free, and with social interaction!
In Gardens of Time, players join the Time Society, an elite group of time-traveling detectives who explore vibrant hidden object scenes to solve the mysteries of time. By finding hidden objects scattered around the world, players collect ancient artifacts, personalize a historical garden, and unravel the mysteries of time as they embark on epic quests to correct the course of history.
Gardens of Time provides hundreds of hours of free content at launch, including more than 40 re-playable hidden object scenes and four distinct modes of play. Players can also engage friends by challenging them to beat a high score, sending them gifts and hints, and visiting friends’ personal gardens to help with quests.
The faster you find objects, the more bonus points you’ll get , and once you’re done, you’ll be able compare your score against your friends in a leaderboard.
As for new content, Gardens of Time will refresh bi-weekly, with five new puzzles per update.
The game is divided into chapters, each of which has a number of different scenes to explore. But you’re free to go back and forth between chapters and scenes as you which.
Scenes feature a dozen or so items listed at the bottom of the screen, and you’ll need to pick them out as fast as possible. There are no time limits in the game but you get bonuses for speed. You’ll be able to use a helpful hint system that refills over time, but there are several other tools to help you as well.
There are goggles that point out where objects of interest are and a thermometer that guides you in the right direction. Unlike the hints these power-ups aren’t unlimited, instead you’ll need to trade with friends to gather more.
The way the game is structured means you’ll have to play scenes numerous times. Each time you complete a scene you’ll earn points that go towards your star rating, for a maximum of four stars per scene. But to get those stars you’ll need to play through the same scene many times.
In addition to the HOG portion of Gardens of Time, you’ll also have a garden to decorate. As you earn cash finding objects, you can then put it towards buying ancient artifacts and other historical objects improve your garden. Each new items earns you reputation points, which are necessary to unlock new scenes to play through.
You can visit your friends gardens, and while your are there you’ll find people in need of some help.
This will take you to a HOG mini-game similar to Bejeweled Blitz, where you have to find as many objects as possible in just 60 seconds. You can also send and receive gifts from friends or challenge them to beat your high score on a given particular scene.
